The hair on our herscene fashion shoot keeps getting bigger, wilder ... and, hopefully, more photogenic out here in our undisclosed, top-secret location in the wildnerness. The secret to successfully executing teased, towering hair, apparently, is weilding two styling appliances-- a flat iron and a curling iron. As Karen Stout, genius stylist from Joseph's, explained to all of us: You flat iron one section, curl the section next to it, then wrap the curled section around the straightened section
So we're hard at work in an undisclosed, densely-treed location shooting fashion for the holiday issue of our herscene magazine and we're going crazy for rich, deep, jewel-toned eyeshadows ... like the gorgeous, velvet-y, blue green shade (Bloom Night Sky, FYI) that our favorite makeup artist Sloan Winters is applying to model Brittany Dingeldein's eyes. You may need Sloan to give you a makeup lesson to handle these heavy shades ... but they're just so pretty once you blend like crazy ... And
they're over at Krebs Optical at 129 St. Matthews Ave. Apparently, the correct name for the suddenly-in-demand specs would be the Kazuo Kawasaki 704's ...
There's nothing about Sarah Palin that doesn't provoke curiousity. Now, word is that her eyeglasses are the subject of intense interest-- as retailers around the country rush to stock up on the flattering frames. While I haven't confirmed it firsthand (yet), the buzz is that the designer is Kazy Kawasaki for Italee and that the frames start at around $375 (without lenses). It's the perfect fall wardrobe replenishing opportunity ... Over at Croquis, they're moving out the last of their summer items with rock bottom markdowns (up to 85% off!) while giving temporary teaser discounts (15%) on the new fall pieces from the likes of Liquid, Mint, Hayden-Harnett ... If that doesn't tempt you, the fact that just about every other store over in Westport Village-- including Moda, the new chic-boutique-for-guys-- is slashing prices today should ... Why wait until Monday and
We're also craving some sweater weather. This morning, we convinced several store owners to conjur up that fall feeling by asking them to trek down to our studio and model fall fashion for the weekly Scene. So Jennifer Lee of Peacock showed up in an adorable and oh-so-wearable Paul & Joe wrap dress ($565), while Casey Smith of Croquis came in wearing a pair of sleek Paige Premium jeans ($179) under a long and lean Nicolas K. sweater ($380). Staring at the completely wearable and covered-up
